Functionalist Table ST44 by Robert Slezák, 1930-40s

The table model ST44 is functionalism per excellence

The combination of dark walnut veneer on the table top is contrasted by shining newly chrome-plated frame.

It is perfect stand alone, as well suitable for combination with steel tube armchairs and/or a Bauhaus style table lamp.

This model was listed in the retail catalogue of Robert Slezák, cf. below.

In the year 1949 the Robert Slezák company was nationalized and the manufacturing was overtaken by Kovona at Bystřice nad Hostýnem (Czechoslovakia).
Later on, in 1992, the privatisation of the company took place leading to establishing of Kovonax, also in Bystřice nad Hostýnem.
Now it is producing furniture including the Robert Slezák models, e.g. the model T45 with 3 legs similar to the offered one, under the brand Slezákovy Závody.
