This variation of the popular canteliver armchair S411 was produced under the license from Thonet (model K411, cf. References below) as a model K108.
S411 being very popular during long time was produced by other companies as well.
Worth mentioning are: Mücke-Melder – model FN24, Robert Slezák – model K29, Hynek Gottwald – EK34 which differed in some way from K411, but preserved the overall impression of the armchair.
The differences for the actual model are:
- The wooden frame is reinforced with massive metal plates, especially suitable to bear the extra weight.
- The height is substantially greater (+11 cm), as well as seat height – +7 cm, the width is somewhat narrower than of original S411.
This makes this variation “sportier” and more robust than a standard model.
