József Peresztegi

József Peresztegi was already a well-known furniture designer between the two world wars, and after the II World War he became one of the decisive personalities in furniture design in Hungary.

He was a founding member of the Faipari Gyártástervező és Szerkesztő Irodá (Wood Production Design and Editorial Office) established in 1951, which was the main actor of furniture design in the 1950s in Hungary.

He followed the Bauhaus tradition and enriched it by original interpretation of this iconic style. He also used the Art Deco elements in his design combining it with Bauhaus.

To unknown for us reasons almost no information is available about him.
